Bye Week

The Bears have the bye this week, which they should use to prepare themselves for the rest of the season. Here's my list of what the Bears need to do to improve:

1. Get Orton ready to start. Griese looked good at first, but last game he looked like Grossman on a bad day. Although he didn't fumble any snaps, he still threw four interceptions. Some people are still thinking playoffs, and our best chance for that is to put Orton in at QB.

2. Heal Urlacher. He has been having some sort of strange back pain, but he is playing through it. He needs to get some relief and start playing to a level he's capable of.

3. Revive the Defense. Adam Archuleta is a terrible safety. He needs to go. Something is wrong with the defense; they aren't playing like they should be. I don't know how to fix it, but then again I don't get paid to fix it either.

4. Find a way to involve Hester in the offense that in some way that isn't a trick play. He would make a better running back than Benson. Benson is ass-awful and he needs traded after this year, although I doubt they could get anything for him.

I have to agree with you on getting Orton ready to start some games, although I'm not a huge Bears fan. Grossman sure as hell should not go back in as a starter, ever. Griese, like you said, did indeed look really good when he first came in as a starter, but it looks like the rustiness of not starting for a while just now started to kick in. And Orton, after a phenomenal rookie year, why hasn't he put back in as a starter yet?? He won 10 games, as a rookie! How can they just look past that?

Make Hester a running back, hahaha. You can't be serious. Hester would probably die (not literally) if he ran a tackle play. In addition to this you say that you are still thinking playoffs with this team yet they get swept to what you call a "terrible team" in the Detroit Lions. Nicccce.

Oh and by the way that is a pretty bad ass picture of Orton partyin it up.

If you ever went or watched any of the bad Grossman games last year. You heard the crowd chanting "griese...griese.." My response was always "what the hell is he gonna do?" and now we all know, not much more than Grossman. Orton needs to get out there instead of wasting time at the bars.
Urlacher is definately not in the game this year. His spirit is gone, and so is his physical performance.
The defense looked great that first game this year. Eek what the hell happened? It's hard to believe a few injuries hurt it that bad.
My greatest Hester fear was confirmed last week late in the fourth quarter. When he got sandwhiched in the endzone and went down for a few minutes, I was mad as hell. I dont like seeing him running down the middle of the field because everyone and their mother wants to crush the guy. I don't like Benson at all. His attitude and playing both suck. It would be nice to see Hester as a RB, but i'm terrified of him getting hurt because the Bears do not have a lot going for them this year.

yea i gotta go with irish on this one Hester as running back would be stupid. i do agree with you on the fact that he needs to get into the game somehow, but not in the backfield. They only places he could go would have to be either corner or a slot reciever. Now with replacing Griese with Orton i'm not sure is the best idea either. Just for once stick with one QB for a multiple seasons.
